CLOUDCROFT, NM, NEW EATERY

Cloudcroft, New Mexico is a place that loves its travelers and travelers love it in return.

Around mid April I wandered up to Cloudcroft for lunch.  Haven’t been going much after my favorite eating place, Front Porch Bistro, closed its doors.

Came upon a new eatery in what used to be the Moose Lodge.  Couldn’t remember the name so did some searching.  Looks like they bought the triple play.  Dusty Boots Cafe, Dusty Boots Laundromat, and Dusty Boots Motel (FB).  Here’s what the Cloudcroft Chamber of Commerce has on their site:

“Coming Soon!  Breakfast served to noon every day!  Open menu with wide selections, along with our daily specials!  Our menu and specials will include Classic American, Mexican and Italian cuisine, along with German favorites!  Coffee is always free with any entree purchase!  Small on-site bakery!  Hours:  Nov – March are 7am-8pm, seven days a week/April-Oct are 6am-9pm, seven days per week.  Free wifi!

I ordered the BLT.  This is the salad that comes with it.  It was large and excellent.

I was underwhelmed by the BLT, but sometimes it’s because I can’t hold the darn thing together.  Add up all the food, and I wasn’t dissatisfied.

The ambience was nice.  It seems an older relative has a penchant for collecting cookie jars and is showing them off there.  They are on shelves on the walls and one big table full.  I counted about 75.

The waitress was excellent, although busy.

Yep, I’ll be going back.
